Publicity Executive at Faber

Faber looking to recruit a Publicity Executive to plan and implement publicity campaigns and events for commercial non-fiction, fiction and crime titles on their adult list. 


This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who has enthusiasm for these areas of publicity, and knowledge of delivering creative campaigns and events. The ideal candidate will have a wide network of contacts and a strong awareness of social and online media. Key duties include compiling press releases, pitching books and authors to media and event planners, and tracking media coverage while keeping authors, agents, and internal departments updated.


The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing publicity campaigns to drive sales and enhance author profiles and will manage author schedules and all campaign-related administration, ensuring excellent care for both authors and agents.

Account Executive at The Marketing Mission Group Ltd

Do you dream of working on marketing campaigns for your favourite books? Are you looking to gain transferable marketing and communications experience? The Mission Marketing Group is searching for a motivated Account Executive to join their team.

In this role, you will work alongside the Client Services team to promote a range of well-established brands. You will have the opportunity to manage small projects from start to finish, compiling timing plans, cost estimates and studio briefs.


The successful candidate will excel at time management and be able to run the production process of projects from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met. Key responsibilities include compiling market sector information for the Account team, compiling status and contact reports, organising and preparing meeting rooms, proofreading, data input and other general administrative tasks such as answering calls and emails. You will be expected to provide a timely and professional service to the client directly or via the Account Manager.

The team is searching for a candidate who is well organised with superb multi-tasking abilities and can prioritise efficiently. Confident communication is vital for building strong relationships with both internal teams and clients. Demonstrable knowledge of social media platforms would be advantageous.

The Maisie Hylton Sub-editing Fellowship

Closing Date: 1 January 2025

Salary: £2,400 per month

Location: London


Are you thinking of working in editorial? Do you want to work at one of the biggest journalism publications in the world? Financial Times is offering a six-month, paid fellowship for Black individuals to begin their careers as a Sub-editor. And even better – you don’t need a degree to apply.


Key responsibilities include trimming articles and writing headlines, standfirsts and captions, so being aware of what makes an attention-grabbing headline is important. You will also oversee the newspaper's production, learning to lay out pages before printing. Not only will you be working in print, but you will also have the chance to work in digital publishing, editing content for FT.com and adding visual components. By the end of the fellowship, the successful applicant will learn how to sense-check articles, write engaging headlines and edit for clarity, so having a passion for grammar is crucial.


The successful Sub-editor must show an interest in current affairs and finance news. You must be well-organised and cope under pressure, especially as you will be working in a fast-paced newsroom.
