HR Administrator at Simon & Schuster

Are you interested in a career in HR? Do you want to work for a globally successful publishing house? Simon & Schuster are searching for a HR Administrator to join their team!


This is a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced team working across multiple projects and assist international teams, in the UK, India and Australia. In this role you will report to the Senior HR Business Partner providing day-to-day HR administration support. This is a fast-paced and demanding role; you will be expected to contribute to the development of a variety of HR tools that help the business achieve optimal performance in HR activities. Responsibilities include managing administrative duties across the employee life cycle, including recruitment, benefits cycles, performance management and more. You will maintain exceptional employee records, update and maintain internal HR systems with accurate data, coordinate recruitment across both UK and India branches and take care of onboarding processes.


Simon & Schuster are looking for an individual invested in the HR field, working to become CIPD certified. You should have stellar communication and organisational skills and have a good knowledge of HR processes and employment legislation. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to multi-task under pressure, have a meticulous eye for detail and be a proactive team player. Experience of MS Office and reporting systems is preferable. Any experience of handling sensitive information confidentially in a tactful and compassionate manner is highly advantageous. 


This position is based in London, there may be an opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity.

“Discover the Secret Life of Books” Mentorship with Pan Macmillan

Are you a bookseller who is eager to learn more about the inner workings of the publishing industry? Pan Macmillan has opened their new mentorship scheme to booksellers, where you’ll gain a deeper insight into the secret life of books!


Not only will you be paired with a mentor for regular catch-ups, but the successful candidates will meet weekly for thirteen weeks, with online sessions delving into cover design, acquisition, the editorial process and much more. You’ll learn how book advertisements find their way onto train stations and how books get sold to the bookstore you work in. There will also be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join business meetings across the departments at Pan Macmillan!


And don’t worry – the whole mentorship is remote, with the opportunity to visit the offices at the end of the scheme!
