Unicorn Publishing Group (UPG) are on the lookout for a Publishing Assistant to join their team based in the Lewes office. UPG is seeking someone who is confident, organised and enthusiastic about the industry. The role would entail acting as the main point of contact for authors, customers and all other general enquiries. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask, perform administrative tasks, work well with computers and have the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure. Due to the remote location of the offices, a car is essential. Experience within administrative roles or publishing roles is helpful, but not critical.

Rights Executive at Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency

If you are interested in working at an outstanding literary agency, check out this Rights Executive role at Madeleine Milburn. This position is based in London but does offer a hybrid work option.
As a Rights Executive, you will be tasked with overseeing the international publicity for the agency’s authors, organising and maintaining databases, assisting with adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction international rights, travelling to events, processing documents such as contracts, producing marketing material and performing other general administrative duties.
A beneficial skill set for this role includes proven administrative abilities, a calm demeanour, excellent written and verbal communication, good organisation and a creative spark.
Madeleine Milburn is searching for an applicant with one to two years of experience in the industry, preferably within the international rights sector. Being proficient in a number of languages is useful but not required.

Literary Assistant at Endeavor

Another position at a different literary agency is vacant. William Morris Endeavor (WME) Agency is looking for someone to join their team as an assistant to two of their Literary Agents.
The responsibilities included in this role are as follows: helping assess book proposals and manuscripts and constructing reports after your assessment, keeping track of contracts, readying submissions, communicating and collaborating with individuals inside and outside of the company, client relations, database management, assisting with preparation for book fairs and other literary events, as well as addressing other office duties as they arise.
WME Agency is seeking an individual with a good eye for detail who can learn quickly on the job. The ideal candidate would be able to communicate effectively through the written word and orally, work well in a team and would not be afraid to jump in. A passion for reading and an interest in international rights is recommended. WME Agency would prefer someone with prior experience in foreign rights, and being familiar with a number of languages is beneficial but not required.
